“Because our stories matter.”
It is crucial to take up space and create spaces for others to be cared for, heard, and understood.
Everybody's story matters, and no one should be left behind.
Welcome to Bantu Girls.
We aim to make every black woman count.
This mental health blog is the digital space you need to understand mental health for black women.
I am Georgette, and I discuss mental health issues that our community faces from the perspective of a woman of colour.
I started Bantu Girls because, at the time, there was a lack of platforms for women of colour, especially women like me, living with ADHD.
We must hear from different reliable sources with our best interests in mind.
On Bantu Girls, you will read shared stories and experiences and gain insights into how black women thrive with mental illnesses.
I know that it can be scary to seek help from someone who has no idea what it is like to walk in your shoes. Or be labelled by the world before you have even opened your mouth.
Bantu Girls is the safe space and community you have been looking for where you can become educated and share your fears and experiences with like-minded women in a judgement-free community that supports one another.
Today is all about taking steps to become our best selves, and sometimes that means taking steps to navigate our surroundings better.
Bantu Girls is here to educate you on medical terms, mindfulness tips, overall wellness, and most importantly, end feeling alone and having nowhere to turn.
I believe in making every black woman count - Join the movement because our stories matter.
